Monday Mayhem

Ahhh, back to the grind after a long, relaxing holiday weekend. It can be quite a struggle to get back into the swing of things, can't it? Well, don't worry, I have just what you need...pictures from our weekend!

I know, you all have been dying to see these. Because no one else is posting their July 4th pics on their blogs/facebook :)

We had a lovely evening at Symphony on the Prairie. We brought a huge picnic dinner with fried chicken, potato and macaroni salads, baked beans, and four desserts! YUM! We listened to beautiful patriotic music by the Indianapolis Symphony and an incredible fireworks show at the end!

The rest of the weekend was filled with fishing, shopping, and our new favorite card game, NERTS! Or as mom says, "SNERTS!" :) I think at the end of one game I yelled, "NUTS!" Its a crazy game, I tell you.
Anyways, here's some fun pictures!

Thoughtful Thursdays: Independence Day

Happy (almost) 4th of July!

I know today is the 3rd, but its almost July 4th, and its Thoughtful Thursdays, which seems to fit appropriately (plus, tomorrow's the GIVEAWAY FRIDAY!)

Anyways, like I was saying, I love celebrating Independence Day! Zack and I watched The Patriot (with Mel Gibson) last night. If you haven't seen it, rent it...or get it at Target for $6.50. It was such a great rememberance of what so many men, women, husbands, wives, sons and daughters went through to give us the freedom we have today!

So, this blog is dedicated to everyone who has or currently is serving for our country, their families and friends. Thank you so very much for putting your life on the line to protect us. We love all of you, and pray for you daily.

So this July 4th, as we dress in red, white and blue, eat flag-decorated cakes, write our names with sparklers in the dark night sky, and gaze in awe at the bright, booming fireworks, remember what this holiday is really for...celebrating our freedom in the United States of America!

Hilarities: Run Away!

Did you ever watch the show You're On Candid Camera! with Dick Clark? I loved that show, and there have been many attempted "replica" versions, but nothing as good as the original (except maybe punk'd!) Anyways, I stumbled on this japanese video and was cracking up! It appears to be of the same thing you'd see on Candid Camera. Poor victims!

Happy Wednesday!

Trendy Tuesday - Lash Injection

Have you seen this new mascara by Too Faced?
It's called Lash Injection and its like getting eye lash extensions without the actual extensions or the price.

Apparently it builds a "tube" around each lash, giving it a 3D look and extension off the tips. It even gives it a bit of a curl. For $20 it can be yours! And I must say, if it actually gives the same apperance as the real deal lash extensions, $20 isn't too bad.

But you should know...as most people don't read the "Precautions" on the product, this is what it says on Sephora's website:
-When removing this product, do not rub aggressively back and forth.
-Lash Injection does not dissolve into a gooey mess, but instead, slides off each lash like little lash "socks".
-Use a downward wiping motion to remove the 3-D polymers, in order to preserve healthy lashes.
Eyelash socks? Hmmm...don't know about this. I'm on the fence. What do you think?
