Thoughtful Thursdays: Independence Day

Happy (almost) 4th of July!

I know today is the 3rd, but its almost July 4th, and its Thoughtful Thursdays, which seems to fit appropriately (plus, tomorrow's the GIVEAWAY FRIDAY!)

Anyways, like I was saying, I love celebrating Independence Day! Zack and I watched The Patriot (with Mel Gibson) last night. If you haven't seen it, rent it...or get it at Target for $6.50. It was such a great rememberance of what so many men, women, husbands, wives, sons and daughters went through to give us the freedom we have today!

So, this blog is dedicated to everyone who has or currently is serving for our country, their families and friends. Thank you so very much for putting your life on the line to protect us. We love all of you, and pray for you daily.

So this July 4th, as we dress in red, white and blue, eat flag-decorated cakes, write our names with sparklers in the dark night sky, and gaze in awe at the bright, booming fireworks, remember what this holiday is really for...celebrating our freedom in the United States of America!

What a wonderful post! Thank you for reminding us why we really celebrate the 4th of July! On a personal note, I would like to honor the late Milton Ferrell Smith (Andy's Grandad), and Dr. James R. Roche (Grandpa) who served with bravery and honor to protect us personally, and our countries. I'm sure many others also have family members and friends who have served or are currently serving our country. Thank you for allowing us to honor them here today!

Bravo!!! Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable post. I LOVED the choir! Thank you! I think my favorite part of the Connor Prarie Night is when they play ALL of the arm forces songs and each service man stands in recognition of their efforts to protect our freedoms. We must never take this gift for granted! Support our current troops with our prayers and encouragement, thank those who have served before them and be active this election year by taking our most precious right to vote as a serious and most certain activity! God Bless our service men and women! God Bless, Love, momoxoxoxoxo p.s. see you soon! I'm sooooooooooooooooooooo excited!

What a beautiful tribute!!! I love this blog!! I am a very patriotic person and I appreciate people that are still proud of our country! I also can relate to what your mom said about the Symphony on the Prairie - we went last year and that was such a moving part of the night, and of course I was so proud of my veteran hubby! We love the U.S.A.!!
